Retired 07/2008 after 34 years working in IT, mainly with IBM Midrange computers; S/3, S/34, S/36. S/38 & AS/400's. Also some experience with IBM Mainframes, HP Unix Servers, and Windows Servers. First PC was a Compaq Portable II (late 80's), about the size of a microwave oven (weighed more than). Had numerous employer Compaq and Dell laptops afterwards, mainly used to access larger servers. Purchased my 1st home desktop PC in 1998, running Win 98, then upgraded to 98 SE. Have gone thru several since then; Win 2000, Win XP, Vista (bleck!), Win 7 Pro, Win 10 Pro & Home. Currently have 2 Dell Laptops and 4 Dell towers running a mix of Win 10 Home & Win 10 Pro, none of which can run Win 11, guess all are recycling material. Did purchase a refurbed Dell 7070 tower running Win 11 Pro; i7 8th gen, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Since Win 11 does not support adding toolbars to the taskbar, I put the "new' PC on the shelf and will not use it until I have to. That deficiency is a major lack of function for Win 11.
