Easy Message Review

When it comes to chatting, I use all the big name services: MSN, AIM, and Yahoo.

But I don't use each of these programs individually; in fact, I've been using a cool utility that lets me manage all of my chat accounts at the same time. The utility is called Easy Message, and I've been using it for well over a year

Easy Message doesn't have all the features of the big Instant Messaging (IM) clients, but (for me) the trade-off is well worth it because Easy Message doesn't hog my system resources.

In fact, Easy Message is so small that you can put it on a floppy disk or thumb drive and take it with you anywhere. The installation is simple and clean, but I'll recommend that you make a few changes once it's installed.

After installing and using the Easy Message services setup wizard, you'll want to go into the Tools Options menu on the Preferences tab and turn off the "Start Web Panel". The Web Panel is a web site at EasyMessage.net that gets launched every time you start up Easy Message. I don't particularly care for that, but it's easy enough to turn it off. I also turn off the "Run this program when Windows start" feature. I don't like many programs starting when I boot up (and I suspect you don't, either).

Other than those little items, Easy Message is well behaved and shouldn't cause any problems. It's fairly easy to use and it does allow you to customize a bit, so that it looks the way that works best for you.
