5 Reasons to Blog with Infopackets
If you've subscribed to our email newsletter, you may have noticed that the format has changed. Specifically: Infopackets.com and the Infopackets Gazette email newsletter are now spotlighting articles written by other authors.
With that said: Over the past few weeks, I've received *many* requests from our Readers to participate in writing articles (I.E., to "Blog with Infopackets").
Unfortunately, many of the letters I received were ambiguous, which tells me that perhaps the initial request to allow individuals from our audience to "blog" was not made clear.
Allow me to clarify.
First: What is a Blog?
A blog is a web site that houses articles written by someone. Blogs are typically written from a personal perspective (rather than objectively, for example). A community blog is a web site that houses articles written by more than one author. Infopackets is such a web site.
Therefore, the request to "blog with infopackets" means that we are seeking individuals capable of writing articles (from a personal perspective) any topic related to: MS Windows, Internet, Technology, General Computing issues, and the like.
And it's not that difficult, really. In fact, many blog articles I read simply comment on news events from other web sites. For example: the web site DailyRotation.com features over 300 headlines from other Tech Web Sites around the Internet. To write your own blog, you could scan DailyRotation's headlines for news of interest, read a few articles ... then get inspired and comment about what you just read. Bingo, bango, boom! (or should I say "blog"?). At any rate, that's the type of stuff we're looking for.
With that aside: let's say you're toying with the idea of blogging with infopackets. What's in it for you?
Here are 5 Really Good Reasons Why You Should Blog with Infopackets:
- Instant Access to a already-established and well-received audience: Infopackets has been online since 2001; since that time, subscription to our email newsletter has exploded to 250,000 members world-wide. On top of that, infopackets.com currently receives well over 15,000 unique visitors and over 30,000 page views daily.
- Gain traffic and subscribers: Do you already own a web site or blog? By blogging with infopackets, you can dramatically increase your online exposure!
Here's how it works: for every article you submit to our arm of 250,000 faithful Readers, you'll be given 2 links back to your web site which encourage our audience to visit your web site. We strongly encourage that you submit only original content to our audience (as opposed to syndicating the same material that may already be present on your web site).
The reasoning? It's simple: once the audience becomes "addicted" to the content you submit through infopackets, they will want to visit your web site to read more (new) material. It's a simple theory, and has already proven to be very effective with our current bloggers! Just ask Clif Sipe, who recently joined our Team!
" ... [In the first week of publishing with Infopackets, my traffic is already up] roughly 25%. Subscriptions to my newsletter are [also off the] chart. Typically, I get 20 to 30 new subscribers a week. This week, I've received 100 new subscriptions ... with 5 more days to go! Thanks again for the opportunity to work with you and the rest of the crew. " ~ Clif Sipe | Clif Notes
Don't own a web site or blog? No problem. We'll be more than happy to set you up with a blog you can call "home", right here at infopackets!
- Gain link exposure [for web site owners / already-established bloggers]: Almost all search engine traffic relies on link popularity. In short, link popularity means that other web sites are linking to your web site as a reference. Without link popularity, you'll stand a very slim chance of ever getting index or ranked on major Search Engines, like Google. And without Search Engine traffic, how else are you going to get free, legitimate traffic to your web site? Answer: with infopackets!
Because infopackets.com is already established with major search engines such as Google, your site's link popularity will soar as you submit more and more articles through infopackets. And as infopackets continues to grow, exposure to your site will also likely grow!
- Access to a very knowledgeable Team of Editors: Infopackets currently has 17 editors on board and are working hard to ensure that all articles submitted to our audience are as professional as they are as easy to read. As soon as an article is submitted through our publishing system, our editors are notified instantly that new content is available. The editing process goes through a series of refinements (if necessary) and eventually makes its way onto the infopackets web site. When your article is published, it will be distributed instantly to our audience on our main page, via RSS syndication, and possibly through the email newsletter (described next).
- Double Exposure and "Super Exposure" in the email newsletter: If you write for infopackets on a regular basis and your content is well-received by the audience, your articles may be included as part of our our email newsletter as well as being displayed in the RSS headlines. Furthermore: if your blog articles are exceptionally provocative, there's a very good chance that they will be highlighted as "Feature Articles" for the email newsletter. Feature Articles are unique than other articles in the email newsletter because the Feature Article title is announced as part of the email newsletter subject line.
For example, a recent email newsletter was sent out on February 10th, 2006, with a subject title that read: "[02/10] PBWiki Contest: Get your own Premium Website for One Year!" ... where [02/10] was the date, followed by the title (in this case, it was Clif Sipe's article).
And of course, there are many more reasons to Blog with Infopackets ... but do I really need to go on?
